Spider Naevi Vein treatments using the Ultra VPL™

Spider naevi veins are telangiectases that consist of a large arteriole from which radiate numerous small vessels that resemble, in the mind's eye, spider's legs. They are found. on the arms, neck, and chest wall.

They are commonly known as spider veins (a central, dilated red body with small, radiating capillaries, giving the impression of the legs of a spider) and are common during pregnancy. These are conditions where small broken veins become visible on the skin's surface. During a VPL™ treatment light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels that make up these imperfections. This absorption process heats up and breaks down the vessels. Effective VPL™ treatments allow the body to recognise these broken vessels as waste and remove them naturally. They can also occur by a sharp blow to the area or by catching the skin when plucking eyebrows or removing comedones (blackheads)

They can vary in size from barely visible to more than half a centimetre in diameter.
